Seems like old times…!

All those things are obsolete now.

And a soda shop!

People whine about the price of eggs, when a simple card costs more, even if you don’t include postage.

Surely Betty’s friend is being sarcastic in the last panel. If not, she should be.

A changing world, and not for the better.

I recall soda fountains in drug stores. Now, even the drug store is gone. It’s a laundromat.

The ladies hat shop is gone, and the sewing machine repair place. But there are two reptile stores in town.

And right across from Radio & TV Repair shop.

It was right next to the Photo-Hut!

All those functions have been swept up into the big box retailers. Remember when they used to say that some day WalMart and Target will wipe out all the mom-and-pop stores in your town? That future is now.

Lots of mom and pop shops went under here especially in the last 10 years since a rezone to encourage high rises. The next art form is the “For Rent” sign as the big tech companies announce layoffs and cutbacks in building. Happy trails!

That is always how I remember where a place is….where other places are.
