Sure would enjoy listening to Al debate Randi about education.

Say what you like about teacher unions, but before their rise teaching was a day-labor tier job, one with low pay and lousy working conditions. And before you say “Yeah, but they only work 9 months a year,” research has shown that most teachers put in as much time as those working a 50 week job. And they often use those summers to further prepare for their jobs.And “parenting?” Yeah, they are often left to fill in the parenting gaps caused by people who don’t have time due to working multiple jobs.

Only 60% Parenting ? More like 80% social work !

There are many aspects of teaching that I do miss: the vast majority of the students, presenting the subject matter, colleagues, and most parents. It is the best job that I’m glad I no longer have. With rare exception, it really is a job for those under 60.

No idea who Weingarten is, and parents parent, not teachers.

It’s time to disband teacher unions.

Does Goodwyn ever have something constructive to say? Perhaps he should write speeches for the likes of DeSantis….

I met her once when I was teaching in NY City. She’s a nice lady who is dedicated to education. I can’t imagine why Mr. Allie would pick an argument with her.

Teachers, along with police, firemen and the medical nurses, aides, etc., are of top importance in this country and yet paid less than politicians and athletes!
