Democracy is still a very flawed system. And the other systems are still far worse. But the GQP Chicken Cult keeps trying to make China and other countries look friendly to the US. The PRC and other enemies of the USA are only friendly to billionaires (real and pseudo billionaires) who kiss the tuchus of every dictator that they meet
China actually ranks 8th behind Russia, USA, France, Germany, Spain, South Korea, and Italy as exporters of arms to the rest of the world in 2020. Ranked on a five-year average of arms exports, the US is NUMBER ONE! China is ranked 6th for period 1950 through 2019. Top five arms manufacturing companies in the world are ALL from the USA.
We still out sell them (and every other nation) with weapons exports. And to think it only takes a trillion or so of our tax dollars per year to keep it that way.
Decent research will show that, actually, the U.S.A. is the top seller of military armaments in the world; not a position anyone should be proud of perhaps? This may be mitigated somewhat if you presume that a lot of that volume is going to protect democracy; but you’ll have a hard time selling that idea to a Palestinian.
When I entered the workforce in 1955, this was the picture of the United States. And Americans jumped and down [along with the crooks running our phony party political system] and bragged about it every day.
The only difference between then and now is that China maintains the Asian tradition of not bragging about their success. Unlike Uncle Sugar BITD.

Natural born capitalists with an authoritative government. I admire the former but don’t want the latter.

So, they just like the US – but they sell more consumer goods. They’re only #4 in weapons sales behind the US, Russia, and France (in that order).

Notice how the people screaming the most about China are also the ones doing all the shopping at Walmart?
