Back in the day, that’s what my folks said when they saw us watching the boob tube.

My dad said there comes a time in every parent’s life when they look at their kid and think “this one’s going to need a lot of help”. BTW, I was an only child…

Norm is a young adult. When do you tell a young adult to “Go outside and play”?

He seems a bit old to go out and play.

All that loud noise does damage your hearing. My father in law flew a PBY Catalina in WWII and the engines were directly over his head. Probably a significant source of his hearing loss. I working at Coca Cola Bottling plant back in the early 70s and we could not hear each other from 10 feet away the clinking of the bottles was so loud. Hearing protection? What’s that?

Just know that hearing loss is PERMANENT. It does not heal like a muscle. Hearing Aids attempt to allow better hearing, they do not promise normal hearing. When I stand under a ceiling speaker in a restaurant of store, my wife knows why I will move as the noise coming straight down drown s out conversation. (The microphones in my behind the ear hearing aids are on top.)

If wish I knew then what I know now.

Norm couldn’t pour water from a boot if the instructions were on the heel (an old Texas A&M Aggies joke but applicable here).

Norm would starve to death if you pushed his plate 6 inches away from him.

If you ever played in a band where everyone is using amps, but there is no sound guy mixing it, you get this problem with everyone turning up their volume to hear themselves. This happens at both rehearsals and performances.

Put the phone in vibrate!
