This whole disposable thing we’ve got going is really hard to adjust to b/c most of us were raised to be careful & learned to repair it ourselves or get it repaired. But things are so cheaply made now, that it’s practically impossible to repair them for less money than buying a new one, which will go belly up too soon…lather, rinse, repeat, ad nauseum, ad infinitum!
He will sing a different tune when he grows up and has a clutter drawer of his own. It’s pretty much a universal thing, some are simply better organized than others with the determining factor being, can you actually find something you are looking for in there?

I grew up poor and always had to scavenge to keep my things running smoothly from all of the cars I used to drive to all of my appliances.
Today in a disposable society where things are cheaply replaced it is really hard to let go of the mentality I grew up with.
So they can call me a hoarder all they like at 2 in the morning if something fails I will likely have the parts to fix it in my junk drawer or garage.

It kinda is a good thing, Michael. These are Kate’s memories. Would you appreciate being asked to throw away yours?
