It is a real book! The story behind it is very sad.

One of my all time favorite children’s books that I read to my son. And yes, the tears were always there. I don’t know if he grasped the depth of a parent’s love, or even remembers the book, but I still have it, waiting for the day when he has a child of his own.

It is lovely story but not for those that have lost a child …. and unfortunately, there are way too many of them…

I am NOT checking it out, I can’t handle sad endings.

Absolutely traumatized by that book. Ugly cry every time, especially after being caregiver to my mother.

Until mom developed dementia, she always introduced me as her baby boy. I was 69 when she died.

My sister had six kids so was gifted this book a lot and threw every one out. The stalker mom breaking into her adult son’s bedroom and cuddling him while he sleeps is one of the creepiest things ever published.
