That’s a question I’ve been considering of late. With the killings in Walmarts and other gathering places, it’s becoming a more likely possibility. And now, some in my state legislature want to let anyone with a loaded gun carry it without a license.
I was curious, so found the poem here, in case you’re interested:https://www.usprisonculture.com/blog/2014/08/13/poem-of-the-day-death-in-yorkville-by-langston-hughes/
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a society with enough emotional maturity to work towards ending the conditions that make someone want to be a bad guy with a gun.
The gun problem is complex. China is importing guns to Southern California, where they are smuggled to Mexico and smuggled by gangs back into the U.S. The Biden Administration needs to stop this trading, but will they? (Vanda Felbab-Brown Brookings Institute) It’s a little naive and unfair to suggest that there are easy answers. The article I cite is an extremely well-documented article. Other issues, such as broken families and mental illness also play a part in this sad tale.
This is like the voting rights problem, except that the 2nd Amendment long predates the amendments and laws extending voting rights. Each fundamental civil right has a few spectacular abuses but infringing on them punishes the innocent without in any way affecting the criminal abusers of those rights.

All it takes is one
One is too many

Minorities are the major losers whenever civil rights, especially the right to keep and bare arms, are restricted.
