Life is changing here. My spouse has suddenly developed a wheat allergy, which means we are shopping in the gluten free aisle now. It’s been a manageable adjustment, just a process of these sudden dawns as we encounter each new treat that is now off the table. No beignets on Mardi Gras, no raisin bread, and just last week, no more Tandoori chicken! (it’s cooked in the same oven as the wonderful naan bread, which was already off the table.) Yesterday, we found out it reaches even into the shower, there was wheat in the conditioner! Finally explains the attacks when we had been trying so hard to keep everything clean. I hope I can keep sweetie alive while we sort out everywhere the darn stuff can hide!

I don’t give up anything for Lent, but every year I eat hot cross buns to make up for that.

Poor Gabi won’t get hers until after sundown, if there’s any left.
