I still have a set of World Book encyclopedias that we got when my daughter was in elementary school. Occasionally use them. Probably more often use them when I need to weight something down.
With this generation and the one before that, it’s a wonder they know HOW to read when graduating.
Electronic devices are bitter sweet. They have made man to lose the ability to think on his own, and solve problems with common sense. Now there’s the threat of AI and the dangers that lie within. It all started when they allowed calculators in the classroom….
I remember those. We used to sit on a stack of ‘em to boost us up at the dinner table. My mom thought we’d reach the table better, my Dad thought we’d absorb some knowledge through like osmosis or sump’n.

I just completed Liu Cixin’s “Remembrance of Earth’s Past” (“Three Body”) trilogy. If you are a fan of science fiction, you might enjoy it.

I wish I had more room in my apartment for more books. If I want new books now, I have to use my Kindle, and it’s just not the same.

I’ve been reading a 100-year-old book by Aldous Huxley. The format is still readable and the only device it might require is a flashlight.
