There was never a ban on individual (that means silent) prayer in schools in the US. Maybe ID is different. In Florida and Texas, it seems, paying out loud will soon be the only thing teachers are allowed to do.

Gawd, what is Id coming to?

We were still praying in schools, in Ontario, up to 1978 for me grade 8, I think it was 1/2 way through the year when it changed. The JWs would leave the room. And we were told there would be none in High School anyway, due to the number of feeder towns, villages and cities.

I remember saying the Our Father in class and the Pledge every morning to start the day! There’s nothing wrong with getting in touch with one’s self and being patriotic to America!

As I have mentioned before, the prescience shown in these 1979’s comics makes it amazing clear that times have not changed except to get worse.

AS long as there are tests, there will be prayers in school…

These classic comics are still so relevant today.

Hey … let’s turn this irrelevant cartoon into a right vs left debate.

I almost forgot this cartoon is from 1973. Unfortunately nothing has changed…yet

the above are all commenting on the prayer part, but none on the mugging part. Is the violence less shocking and disturbing than the prayer part? What does that say about us?

I guess things haven’t changed that much since 1973.

And today schools are even worse. Time has not helped things.
