The Colobel used to have some mighty fine Chicken. Can’t eat it now, but I remember extra crispy fondly. We’d take a box to the Drive In Movie, big Saturday date nite. And we payed a babysitter too. Good grief, dull and boring…that was us! LOL
Okay boys, Annie is looking for you by now. Time to go home. Took a short road trip yesterday to get Fred’s nails clipped (80 miles away in Mammoth!) and to see the roadside lakes still covered in snow. A big warm up is coming next week and the creeks will be rising quickly. Fred and I won’t be able to cross our usual creek on our walks as the planks will likely be under water or washed away. Did a short walk on my new snowshoes, feeling those unused muscles this morning!
I have an appointment in Portland today for a stress test. I’m going to stop in McMinnville and see Jenny on the way. I’m not expecting to get home until late tonight. I’ll probably have to do my last shift when i get back.
On the next cloud, there’s a cow cursing out Ronald McDonald. While on the subject of chickens, is it just me, or does Gigan (a chickenlike monster in the Godzilla movies) look like Foghorn Leghorn? Bet Gigan could give the Colonel some real nightmares! (That’s a joke, son!) On another note, saw six robins, a raven, and a junco while out walking today.

There are lots of creative names for chicken take-out. One I remember from Boston is Chicken Out.

I had a portrait of The Colonel on the wall of my chicken coup with the caption, “There are two kinds of hens in the world, fryers and layers.”
