Okay, I searched, and I now know what a pop-it toy is. I also searched for a list of Metallica songs, and found that they did one called “Master of Puppets”. That’s too much work just to get the joke.
For reasons unknown (at least to me) Metallica’s Master of Puppets was the first heavy metal album in the National Recording Museum. See Ridley’s Believe It or Not from 4-27-2023.
Nice coincidence; I was checking out at a Staples store 2 days ago and picked a Pop-It! game off the shelves to see what the yellow cupped thing was. I thought it was going to be a tray for mini ice cubes.

I gave up on Metallica when they started bragging about their music being used to torture prisoners in Iraq.
