NATIONAL HONESTY DAY. This is me, too. Iām sending out some āsave the dateā invitations to my family for the birthday party Iām going to have in the village park n August. And Iām telling everyone very honestly exactly why a certain brother is not invited and not welcome. Iām not telling him about the party because he would invite himself. Then I would have to be very honest and very blunt when I order him to leave. And no, he canāt grab a burger or a hot dog or even a potato chip before he goes away. Iām sure my family will keep quiet and John will never hear about my party.
NATIONAL OATMEAL COOKIE DAY
NATIONAL PREPAREATHON! DAY
NATIONAL BUGS BUNNY DAY. I love that āwabbitā!
NATIONAL SARCOIDOSIS DAY
NATIONAL RAISIN DAY. This is funny. I just bought raisins after work last night to pack in my lunch for work today.
We had a lovely (mostly) lunch by the bay yesterday, The food was really good, the view was beautiful. The service? Not so much.I ordered shrimp with a side salad that included mandarin oranges and candied walnuts. It sounded good. Brad ordered the teriyaki bento box with an appetizer of shrimp, mango and avocado. I told the server we wanted both BEFORE our meals. Oh, and we thought we would try some new non-liquor drinks, also to have before our meal. Someone brought the shrimp and bento box. I asked where the other food was. He didnāt know. We were halfway through the meal when I could finally flag down the server to ask about the missing items. She was sorry ā she forgot about them and would get them. I told her to forget about my salad but Brad said he still wanted to try the appetizer. She FINALLY brought it and the drinks. She offered to put my salad in a to-go box. I declined.
If it had been really busy in there, I could understand. It was mostly empty. There were more people eating outside than inside. This was a high-end, upscale place. The bill for what we had was $87. Add a tip and it was close to $100. Yes, I know I should have probably docked her tip down to 10% but I just couldnāt. She said she was new.
What will This Side Up do with his ill gotten money? One more day of heat, then we cool way down for several days. Iāve been weeding like crazy after all the rain, priority is anything with pokey or sticky seed heads. But iris and other flowers are blooming ā including fragrant sweet peas! -and the fruit trees are looking to produce a decent crop of apricots, cherries, peaches, plums and pears.
Whatās in there, drain cleaner? Cyanide? Bleach and ammonia? Dirty socks? Whatever it is, I hope the dog can afford the antidote. Very funny comic today. On another note, saw a raven, four robins, a spotted towhee, and two finches while out walking today.
