Wouldn’t there be a problem with that since Lacey thought Alice was her dead sister Pearl, and Alice is not actually Pearl? Lacey would have left the money to Pearl, not Alice. She didn’t even know Alice’s real name.

Notice that Alice addresses “Joan” as “Jan.” She’s getting names wrong too. Maybe it’s contagious.

One would think the will would be voided since Lacey was clearly not of sound mind since she left her estate to a sister who has been dead for decades. The fact Lacey confused Alice with her sister is proof she was not of sound mind and the will would be voided. Likely the state will have to find the nearest relative, maybe a second cousin/grand nephew.

Don’t give her money. She’s drinking all she can already.

Not that it matters, but is the fact that Alice addresses everyone as “ducks” supposed to indicate that she’s British? I think that’s a uniquely British form of address.
