In little league my son was a catcher. He talked up the batters a little too much at one game and was sent off the field by the ump. That was 50plus years ago. He never would tell me what he said……
I taught pitching for years. I had my catchers walk out when it was tight and ask the pitcher, If he heard about the moron who went to the baseball game to see the batter who had to walk because he had four balls……….
All the games I’ve been to, the pitcher always covers his mouth with his glove, so no one can read his lips…LOL! I’ve seen some wild pitches, but this is stumping me! I’ve also seen split, flying bats into the stands….one thing I know is you have to PAY ATTENTION! ☺️
You wouldn’t believe some of the conversations if you heard them. Most pitchers are a bit flakey, while some are down right wack-a-loons. I caught for 11 years and you learn how to deal with the person in the nut house, also known as the mound.
Mike du Jour is available on Gocomics, the WaPo, and Arca. There are new strips for 6/12 and 6/13 and they’re only in the print WaPo and on Arca. I do not understand why.
