I have a St. Francis movie where they showed his taming of a wolf. It’s so cute. First the wolf is growling at St. Francis. But he just held out his hand. Then the wolf starts to sniff, then lick his hand. Then he even started to playfully jump up on St. Francis.
Scientists have been looking for an earthlike planet for decades. So far, we haven’t found one. Even if we did, it would be impossible to get there anytime soon.
So let’s face it. We’re stuck with this planet at least for the time being. It makes sense to keep it habitable as long as we can.
You do not need any kind of faith, religious or otherwise, to agree with this philosophy; you just need a brain.
One of the storybooks I read my kids was about St. Francis and the wolf. It was a real pleasure when we were actually able to visit Gubbio and see the statue of Francis and the wolf.

“Inch by inch, life’s a cinch; Yard by yard, it’s very, very hard.”
BTW, Greta can travel from Sweden to Italy by mass transit.

Plenty of privileged people will find it easier to save the planet than emulating St. Francis.
