I bought some paint from Sears once. Said it would cover in one coat. It didn’t.

New minimansion was painted a nice Federal Blue with the paint that says it needs no primer! Peeled off the raw wood siding. So the idiots did it again, peeled again!! Folks, the stuff doesn’t work, ya think! Third try they must have finally given up and primed as the paint has stayed on for years. The cover in one coat thing is if the color is the same or darker in most cases.

Painting is up to the landlord, so I don’t really care.

A Pro Painter told me that since the government forced to paint companies to go to Low VOX, paint doesn’t cover as well.

That’s the big lie in the world of paint. I’ve never, ever be able to cover something adequately in one coat, even if it was a similar color.

I do a fair amount of painting professionally and I’ve never found a paint that will cover in one coat. That $70 a gallon stuff is really good, but it still takes at least two coats. I’ve also found that the mid price range paints do just as well as the more expensive ones.
