I cleared a bit of my garden plot for it this year, planted a bunch of seeds in the plot, and we’ve gotten plenty of rain…and nothing grew in that plot, but several milkweed have popped up nearby, including in the lawn. D’oh.

My mom has been growing milkweed for a few years now, but we still haven’t seen any monarch yet.

We have a farmer’s field that has been standing idle these past few years and started having a lot of milkweed in it. This year they’ll build a solar electric field on the property, they started by mowing down everything growing. Sad for the monarchs.

I have 4 varieties along with other plants (including shrubs, trees, and vines) for bees, hummers, and butterflies. But their numbers continue to decrease due to habitat destruction in the U.S. and where they migrate.

I have about a dozen milkweeds around the house. Last year I found 4 monarchs on my plants.

I have a patch of wild milkweed we leave for the monarchs. We don’t see very many monarchs, but occasionally we get some.

When we finished our remodel/renovation we also ripped out the lawn & garden and planted flowers and plants that are pollinator friendly including milkweed. Turns out the monarchs do come up here.

I leave a large area in our back unmowed where the milkweed grows. Every year it gets a little bigger. Soon I won’t have to mow the yard at all!

Kind of the Rodent Air Force (R.A.F.) to help spread the word, isn’t it?

    Good Evening, Crew.
