I can’t relate to this. I’ve got a skinny butt that defies the calories from cookies, chocolate Santas, nutbreads (YUM!) I can’t even do an eye-roll at her this morning. She’s making sense ’cept for the email part.
Hello Susan when you arrive. I’m kinda surprised to be first in line this morning. Morning lightenup I knew it was a bit too early to see ya yet (and the site is slow again today). Afternoon *Mom!** if you make it here today.
Morning / afternoon / evening friends uh, fans? of Cathy. This is why I use Cathyite because what do you call a gal like Cathy who is part charming and part nutbag.
I think she has a direct T1 line from the refrigerator to her midsection. The closest Cathy gets to “control” is a key on her computer. :-)Good morning, AaronClaus! I’m running late this morning because I did some grocery shopping after I dropped the kids off. Shopping first thing in the a.m. is the best. I imagine that the store is open just for me. LOL!I hope your eye is doing better and not leaking anymore. 8-)p.s. I think you forgot an asterisk at the end of lightenup, so it bolded everything until the next one.Good morning, Susan! I think most everyone else are afternoon/evening folks…Hello GsMom, Billy, nannygram, Mai Tai, rgcviper, KFG and all of the other Cathy nuts that join us today! It’s Friday!! I made it through the marathon week, and now I’m probably 90% done with shopping (rather than the 50% I was). Yay!Now to decide what’s for Christmas dinner… Any ideas? i’m thinking ham.
Thanks for the dinner ideas… I’ll have to take a vote in my house, I guess.
I’m jealous of you and Billy’s metabolism, Aaron. I’m not overweight but not skinny – I do eat pretty healthy and keep to reasonable serving sizes. Sometimes I want to pig out, but I remember that I don’t feel so good afterwards and usually talk myself out of it.
p.s. Thanks for being here, everyone! I’m having a bad day and I’m in such a sour mood. I came here to escape all the grumpy people in the world who are being irrational today. Maybe the craziness of the season has gotten to me and others so we’re not being respectful, but personally I’m so over it all right now. I know, I shouldn’t let it get to me, but some days it’s not so simple. Just keep the kindness and fun here and I’ll be fine!
I’m with gmforde about Thanksgiving. It’s second only to Christmas to pigging out and the aftershocks lasting into New Years.
Music, lightenup. Five or ten minutes to yourself, with a little music. And a bit of forgiveness because, after all, we’re only mere mortals. Work on the moments your in, per Aaron’s beautiful phrase. Those counts. What’s minutes old is unimportant, as are the minutes to come.
For those too new here, here’s a refresher on what I call “Aaron’s beautiful phrase”. He’s a country farm boy. Over the course of a few days one summer day, he put these words together. I carry them every day inside, where I can get quick access:
The future isn’t where my life is, it’s in the moments I’m in.
My folks bought Aaron a iPad for an early Christmas gift. They had that engraved on it for him. We do manage to practice what he preaches. :-)
I feel Cathy’s pain. As usual, the jeans have been feeling a little bit more snug since Thanksgiving . . . “Tis the Season” I guess! But once Christmas is over, I’ll seriously get back to my diet and drop those newly-gained pounds as quick as I can!
Good evening, AaronClaus (hope your eye is better today!), Billy Kringle (loved your beautiful quote by Aaron!), lightenup (so sorry you’ve had a rotten day; hope you’re feeling better now!), K.F.G., Susan, MaiTai (Maia), gmforde, lindz.coop, rgcviper, nannygram and all the rest of the Cathy fanatics joining us here tonight. As always, good to “see” you all!
Billy just reminded me of an acronym (and he was picking on me a bit for my ’nutty formatting) this morning. The acronym is PEBKAC. Problem exists between keyboard and chair.
I’ll work on one for Cathy because … I dunno … maybe I’ll have too much time on my hands next week. That’s not a good thing so let’s hope I find a way to be busy before/after my soup kitchen time.
Hi nuts! Just a little note to say, thanks! I’m feeling a little better (not quite 100%, but working on it). For me, what usually helps is a good vent (let it all out!), some time and some nice people. I’m just so over all the craziness… but I’ll recover :-)p.s. @ Billy Kringle – I did technical support for years, so I’m familiar with many of those acronyms. My favorite was always the ID ten T problem. (Write it down, but use the number ten rather than the word. :-)) And a variation of the PEBKAC diagnosis is PICNIC (Problem In Chair Not In Computer). LOL! Ah the good ol’ days!
Such is the fun of the holidays, huh, Cathy?.Sorry to hear you’re not having the best day, lightenup. But, we’re here to help you make it through..Hello to Aaron, G-mom, and all the other Cathy followers. And, happy Friday!
I actually lose weight around Christmas because we’re extra busy and I’m running around more, and not eating as good as I should be…thank goodness for protein bars :)…..gots to make my Scottish short bread this Sunday :)
Hi to all Cathyites!I too lose weight just before Christmas — maybe the added running around — but gain it all back usually until around March when it starts to come off again. I’m also a Lifetime Weight Watcher because it works and it’s easy.
