I know… I thought we’d gotten rid of the nasty ones. I don’t know what it is about that comic that people get so mean. I swear I like Elly in FBOFW… maybe I don’t always agree with her, but I can usually empathize. So I have no idea why that jerk was picking only on me, and it bugs me when posters pick on other posters. The only one that I respond negatively to is Nab (he has a really long name) when he criticizes all Gen X women for being lazy, drug addicted, crazy nazi-feminists. He makes it seem like all Gen X women are like that when it is probably only the ones he’s encountered and they are the minority. Anyway, I’m done. I will continue posting, but will never go back to any comic other than Cathy to read comments after I post. Most comics are friendly, nice, and supportive except for FBOFW. I don’t know what’s up with that one… Thanks again to my friends for the support though!

My night’s job is done. Aaron had started a game of World Edition Monopoly on his iPad. He had won about $21M. He asked me to finish it off. I netted us $137M. We now have $741M in our ‘retirement fund’. We’re considering trying out philanthropy. IRL we donate only to the US Olympics.

LIttle Muttley Beagle wants to watch Scooby Doo (the 70’s version) by the fire. Being a push-over, I have no problem with that. :-D

Hi Cathyites!! I stopped posting on FBOFW because it got too ugly. That’s why I’m so refreshed by all the nice folks who post here (but it hasn’t always been that way here either).

I allowed myself to be taken to a basketball game for my 21st birthday — boy was I young and naive. And they LOST — even worse!!

We don’t go all-out for Valentine’s Day, but we went to a Folkie Valentine Concert and had a nice dinner. We also got little chocolate things for each other (I got 2 truffles, he got a chocolate heart) — not bad for 30 years together.

@ lindz.coop – just missed you! (17 min ago) :-) Yeah, I don’t blame you. A while ago, someone (I think howTheDuck) really pissed me off and I thought about not posting there anymore, but then I thought that they shouldn’t scare me off, that I would continue to post what I thought and not get involved in the other comments. But then I guess I relaxed and went back to read comments later in the day, which was a mistake, because then I read the rude ones. If you post early enough, the nasty ones aren’t awake yet. But you post late, so I don’t blame you for avoiding them. It’s a shame… the rude ones manage to stay just barely out of trouble, but are still trolls.Yeah, Cathy doesn’t lend herself to having nice comments, but ever since the re-runs started, only the diehards have stayed, and I think we’re all pretty civil.Congratulations on 30 years together!!! That’s impressive! <3@ hendelca – Thanks, you’re sweet. Regardless of what the rude ones say, I truly try to be kind and not pick on others (comic characters or commenters). If the only comment that I can think of is something mean about the comic or argumentative against another commenter, I’ll usually not say anything at all and move onto the next comic. Sure, I’ve probably made some snarky comments, but I try not to make it a habit, and I have such a respect for the artists that do the comics that I try not to be mean about the comic either. And I don’t care if someone disagrees with me or my opinion, but as long as we are all civil, that’s great. Okay, I’m off my soapbox now. But I’m determined to keep Cathy civil. Sure, we can roll our eyes and be critical of Cathy’s irrationality, but I think no one is mean about it.Have a great night, everyone!

Well, the gifts are a nice gesture, although the in-person touch would’ve added a lot. Just my two cents’ worth.

I agree that the commenting can get ugly on a number of online comics, but thanks for keeping things civil here, everyone—and so much fun! You all are great.

Hello to all the other “Cathy” aficionados.

OK everyone who has been on the edge of their seats waiting to hear about the results from my text………Those mean docs are FINALLY finished looking at my school files….they even called 2 profs that have retired! Can you believe that? ANYWAY I’ve decided to go into Neurology, AND I don’t have to go back to Yale, ( if I don’t want to) I can go wherever I want, so YIPPEE!!!!!! :D I’m SO excited and nervous!!!!……..My other option was PEDS, but as it turns out (from my test) that I wouldn’t be that patient with children…….makes sense, seeing as I can’t stand it when mothers don’t tell their kids to behave in public….LOL………For Uni, I’m either thinking of Harvard or Uni of Stockholm……still not sure…….AND I’ll be going to Chicago in 2 weeks for a Medical Conference to meet with North America’s TOP Neurologists!!! CAN’T WAIT!!!! YAY!!!! :D
