Man: The $50,000 luxury performance sedan! Grand symbol of our times! It say,"I've achieved!" "I've succeeded!" "I've made it!" "I strive, therefore I am!!" ...Or maybe something even more poignantly personal... Cathy: "I'm broke, therefore I lease." Man: Does this country know how to keep up appearances, or what??

So true, Cathy. And the salesguy is pretty accurate also. I think I should have been born decades before because I , yearn for the days when we were realistic and down-to-earth and we only bought what we could afford (I don’t have a problem with credit cards as long as you pay them off every month. It’s better than carrying around wads of cash.). And of course whatever we bought lasted forever because we could fix it ourselves. But I would miss my computer and the Internet, so that plan won’t work… Hmm, back to the drawing board…Good morning, simpsonfan! Everyone else must be sleeping in. Today was my glimpse of the near future where I need to get up early for school again. The kids went off to camp today (a break for all of us), so everyone is gone. Finally I’ll have time to get some things done! After I read the comics, of course… ;-)Good morning, Aaron and Susan!Hello to GsMom, Billy, KFG, rgcviper, lindz.coop, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, gmforde, soonergal, lippyfish, Mai Tai, Willi Nilli, mollie, AnonaMona, Bronzepony, legaleagle, Hobbes and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today!p.s. @ KFG – Except for no A/C, it sounds great there!! Hope you’re having fun and I miss all of your fun posts first thing in the am! Hugs!

NO WAY would I spend $50,000 on a vehicle, ‘cept for what simpsonfan2 said. That’s asking for a whole lot of trouble. But guess what, people do. Makes me want to slash their tires and deflat their “in your face”-ness.
Morning Susan arriving sooner than later. Morning lightenup by a whole hour. Hello AnonaMona, living in the land of my ancestors. I’m French-Canadian but our family arrivedin Quebec Province via Nova Scotia via Scotland over the course of 800 years.
When I got up at 7:30, LMB was sitting beside my bike, on top of his/my backpack. I took him into town and back. Now he’s got a grin that just won’t quit. Life is good. :-D

My first car was ‘74 Dodge Charger. It was three years old. When I got ready to buy a new Charger it cost me $5 ,800.I cried because it cost too much. (Sigh, those were the days my friend, I wished they’d never end.)

No Mom! today? [whiimper] I even saved her a shortcake from last night. Oh poo!
KFG me. And NOT A CHANCE HONEY! :-D (Kinda like way back when when you discovered that Billy and I are already taken). Sorry — disappointing you twice is kinda rude, but the Camaro is mine mine mine. And sometimes Mom’s but usually mine mine mine.

Hi Cathyites!! Sorry I didn’t get to post last night — studying for the SW Licensing Exam and I PASSED!! I can hardly believe it, but I don’t have to study anymore — such a relief.
In answer to you question of last night Aaron, I don’t see why you couldn’t cut the sugar in the recipe or use honey as long as it doesn’t affect the texture — especially of the creme. I usually cut the sugar in all my recipes (and the mayo, and the oils etc.).
As for yesterday’s comic — I really have difficulty with going into places where the temp is set 40 degrees below what the outside temp is. I think most folks could get used to having a temp around 75 — we all love it outside when it’s that temp. I really get into battles at ballet because all the young’uns are used to air conditioning and can’t stand to sweat when they dance. I learned from my old teachers that muscles shouldn’t be stretched to capacity in cold air — especially AC (and I’ve seen the life-changing injuries it can cause). So I wait until I get home to stretch and dance very carefully in the AC — that’s why I can still do the splits at 64.
I think I’ve already said enough about my idea of cars — if it costs over $20,000 — it’s too much. As soon as you drive it off the lot, the price drops by at least a third. And just for a reference, my first house cost $23,000.

About to call it a night. LMB is sound asleep curled up against me here on the sofa. Mom and Dad work so they went to bed over an hour ago. I’m waiting for my muscle relaxer to kick in so I’ll read until it does. I finished a Steve Berry novel moments ago and I’ll start another. If I just go to bed and turn of the lights, my mind starts running a marathon. When my book (or iPad sometimes) hits my nose, I’m done.
lindz.coop cutting the sugar in most recipes is something Mom automatically does. We like sweet but we don’t like teeth-ache-sweet. The fruit, if it’s ripe and fresh, is so much better than added sugar. Peaches and blackberries is new to us but it was a great recipe. Peaches and raspberries or blueberries is definitely a treat.
To sleep — perchance to dream . . .
