Woman: Hello, and welcome to the one hour photo! When do you want your pictures? Cathy: I want them in an hour. Woman: An hour? Oh, no! They can't be done in an hour! Cathy: This is called the "one hour photo". Woman: We got backed up. Is 5:00 ok? Cathy: No. 5:00 is NOT ok! The sign says "one hour"! I want my pictures in an hour! Woman: Twenty people came in before you, and they want their pictures in an hour, too. Cathy: Make somebody else wait! I'm sick of being the nice one! Woman: Everyone else said they're sick of being the nice one, too. I can't do it all. Cathy: I have to do things all day that aren't possible to do! I spend my life rushing around trying to please people! I live with horrible deadlines and stress! Nothing is ever my ideal time frame!! I WANT MY PICTURES IN AN HOUR! I WANT MY PICTURES IN AN HOUR I WANT MY PICTURES IN AN HOUR! Woman: ...Oops. The machine jammed. Is tomorrow afternoon ok? Cathy: How much personal power does it take to win at the mini-mall?...

huhâŠfirst comment today. I didnât see that coming. Anyway, just wanted to say hi to everyoneâŠIâve been reading this site for a while and decided that I wanted to start talking. I thought the Cathy board seemed like a good place, since you Cathyites seem like a pretty nice, civil group :)

I agree with you Susan Newman â not the right title for the shop! I like those machines where you can print out your own photos immediately, we have one at our local drugstore.
Good morning everyone!

I like those machines too Bronzepony and I use self checkout at the library. If I could do everything myself I would. Cathy is right on this one, if I were her Iâd take my pictures elsewhere.

is this a rerun of a 1980âs strip?
jbarnes over 12 years ago
If she wants to exercise her âsocial powerâ, she needs to take her money elsewhere. And then start a smear campaign on every review site, plus Facebook.

I own a Photo Lab in NJ called The Picture Spa. We make digital prints in minutes and film is really 1 Hour if requested.http://www.picturespa.comwww.facebook.com/picturespa

Itâs from 2001, Sid. Nobody had one-hour photo in the 80s!

Answer to Cathyâs question in the last panel: More than you have. Of course Iâm with Cathy (and the rest of the clan) on this. Technology marches on, so sheâll eventually win. I do have to wonder what Cathy takes pictures of. We already know she has boxes and boxes of photos at home.
Â
Afternoon Susan LOL youâre so fun on a Sunday! :-D Letâs see, you were here 5+ hours ago. LMB would have been standing on my chest around then, wanting to go out and then go for a ride.
Â
I saw lightenup on another comic this morning, so I know sheâs around. Probably reading last nightâs stuff. Wow were we all chatty last night. :-D
hi mom!AnonaMoaner over 12 years ago
Poor Cathy . . . still, sheâll have time to make up an index for this set of prints while sheâs waiting.
Yesterday was quite a day, wasnât it? I spent most of the time alone, so it was good to be able to chat in here with my friends.

So sheâs not getting her photos in an hour? And it appears that Sales Lady-clone is immune to abuse. Sorry Cathy, save the tantrum for someone who isnât so thick-skinned.
Â
AnonaMona loved your comment last night wondering if Iâm mean, moody, and magnificent. Hmmm, is 1 out of 3 close enough? :-D
Â
lightenup at the moment youâre giving me a totally blank stare. I assume youâre updating your avatar. Is go go Gadget gone gone?
Â
Evening all. Seems that the impromptu Saturday night date last night was fun for all. :-D
Hi Mom!NE1956 over 12 years ago

Wow. This one takes me back.
I agree that Cathy has a point here, although she manages to blow it up to nutjob proportions as usual. Ha.
Happy Sunday, all.

Oh dear â Iâm too late for a cookie! Hope they were good anyway.
Night, everyone who goes to bed. (I should have gone ages ago, but then Iâm a bit of an owl â itâs early Monday morning here.) Hope you all have wonderful dreams which are only surpassed by an even better day ahead.

I had stopped reading the funnies for a very long time, are Cathy and Irving really married now? Wow! One of the reasons that I stopped reading the funnies was that this strip had stopped⊠Welcome back Cathy! You speak for alot of us, as does this particular salesclerk!

Regarding the comic, good for Cathy!! I get so annoyed when everyone else complains and Iâm the nice one who deals with it and gets the short end of the stick. Regarding the comments, you all are incredible and we have such a wonderful group here. I totally value everyone, even when I make quick comments because of time constraints, I still think about how thereâs a group of kind, funny people at the Cathy Corner to hang out with. My online âhomeâ⊠Thank you to everyone for that!

@ KFG â I hope youâre having a successful visit home and that everything is going how you want it to go. I donât remember how old you are (and it doesnât really matter), but I wish you all the success with your move to Chile and your new love interest!!! I think everyone should take some sort of gamble in their lives, and bravo to you for going for it!Iâve taken two (at least, but I donât want to bore you :-)) major gambles in my life that Iâm proud of. The first one is after I graduated from college and was having trouble finding a job from my momâs home in MD. So based on a gut feeling and a little bit of research (really, just a little), I packed my car and moved to Atlanta without a place to live or a job or even without knowing anyone here. Amazingly, I found a home in 2 days (mostly due to a nice Southern lady who took pity on me) and a job a few weeks later (ok, so it was waitressing, but it paid the bills), and here I am to stay many years later. My other âgambleâ was when I agreed to marry my husband after knowing him for a month (and that was even mostly long-distance). He gave me a ring 3 weeks later, and here we are 13 years later with 2 kids. Crazy, but sometimes you just know that itâs the right decisionâŠAnyway, please please keep us updated on whatâs going on with you, and please let us know if you canât post for a while so that we know youâre okay. Also, let me know if youâre ever in the Atlanta area and maybe we can meet somehow⊠thatâd be fun! Super sister power!

My last comment for the night (I promise)⊠My little (well, not so little anymore) ones are passing another milestone tomorrow⊠Jr starts 4th grade and Lil starts 2nd. I totally love these years and am enjoying them, but am still sad about how fast theyâre going. Iâll do my best to either have Jr post or Iâll let you know how it goes⊠â„
AnonaMoaner over 12 years ago
The years go by far too fast, donât they? All you have to do is blink, and suddenly theyâre starting off into adulthood. My grandchildren are either at university or about to start â which I canât quite believe at all.
I used to sing âThe Circle Gameâ and get all sentimental because it was about my kids. Now I realise itâs about the grandkids too! Just enjoy the years while youâre in the middle of them, and try not to blink very often.
