Myth alert! Chocolate does NOT give you pimples!!! It does not trash your self respect either. Chocolate can be beneficial to your health, especially dark chocolate. Cathy’s problem is her lack of self control. Then she uses chocolate as a scapegoat. She’s acting a bit more like a “normal” person here for a change. Chocolate can make dogs sick, it’s like poison to them.

if said “chocolate isn’t good for dogs” then therefore it isn’t good for people too. Just saying…

Good snarky thought balloon, Electra! Happy Friday to the Cathy Clan. Missing you, Aaron and Billy!

Hey, AnonaMouse — maybe you could host a Cathy Convention in Scotland one of these days?:)

I’ll agree that chocolate isn’t necessarily bad for humans, though. It doesn’t make me spotty – it’s cheese that does that. And chocolate is a whole food. As long as you eat it instead of other things, not as well as, it’s not the worst thing you can swallow.

Diabetics and sufferers of some other conditions – sorry, this may not work for you!

Talk about timing – I still had a mouthful of Hallowe’en leftover chocolate bar when I read the strip! And yes, lightenup, dark chocolate Mmmmmmm.

Shygirl – Congratulations from me too. Anthropology was my elective for first year engineering many decades ago. Turned out it was one of my favorite classes!

Anona Mouse My wife and I will be invading your part of the world next June. I am really excited about finally getting to tour at least a part of Scotland.

Now, let me see if I can find another piece of chocolate . . .

hendelca: What a coincidence . . . I was eating a leftover Halloween chocolate bar as I was reading this too!!! But unlike our good friend, Cathy here . . . I’m not overweight and when I do have the occasional piece of chocolate, I don’t berate and beat myself up over it like she is/does. Moderation is definitely the key!

B/t/w: Absolutely love Electra’s little “thought balloon” in the last panel!!!!! She’s one SMART little dog!!!!! :-D

Aaron & Dr. Billy: Missing you both very much and hoping you’re safe . . . wherever you are!!!!!

Good evening & Happy Friday, lightenup, lightenupjr., lil’lightenup, Dr. K.F.G. (wherever you are!), Susan, lindz.coop, rgcviper, gmforde, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, hendelca, Gator007, legaleagle48, mollie05, Anona Mouse, catsarge10, millie p, soonergal, Bronzepony, Molly mcgee, Shyygirl27, Violet Bay, AndiJ, BJIllistrated, ncalifgirl58, summerdog, Terri, ruizuno1, Wolf Emperor, FinnyGirl, ellisaana, marmar in MI, J. Yes, chocolate is definitely poisonous to dogs!!!!!

The following is from earthclinic.com:“Although pets should never have any type of chocolate, milk chocolate is not nearly as dangerous for animals as semi-sweet or unsweetened bakers chocolate. Chocolate poisoning can cause irregular heart rate and rhythm, restlessness, hyperactivity, diarrhea, vomiting, panting, muscle tremors, abdominal pain, bloody urine, increased body temperature, seizures, coma and possibly even death.”

Yeah, Cathy. It’s ALLLL the chocolate’s fault. Keep telling yourself that, and maybe you’ll feel better.

@Aaron & BillyMissing you guys! Let us know you’re OK when you can. Look forward to seeing your posts again soon.

    Happy Friday, “Cathy” Clan.

Hi Cathyites!! Thanks Shygirl & Lightenup — I too love chocolate — usually only the dark stuff, but I work it into my daily points for weight watchers and it works great for me. I figured out that I had 6 points of chocolate on Halloween — mostly while waiting for the 20 kids who came trick-or-treating at our door. It was more kids than we usually have and I really wasn’t expecting any after the horrible nights we had on Monday and Tuesday — but they braved it and got double candy bars for their effort.
