I do notice that at work (but I appreciate that this is a very generic statement and there are exceptions, but:). The older guys put in the effort and take pride in their work. The younger ones put in minimum effort, expect to be thanked for it and tend to do only part of the work. Usually has to be finished or corrected by the older guys.I’m hoping this is not the case everywhere. What are your impressions?

    Jon “Prove it”

They walk back to the clearance aisle and everything is thrown everywhere.

I went into one store and most of the store was neat but the clearance aisle was a mess with stuff on the floor. Because it was a collection of miscellany, customers kept moving stuff around at random so order was impossible to maintain.

My wife. She tidied for 3 males, worked at Target for 4 years and she cannot leave a shelf untidy, all products folded and in order.

I used to work at a big box orange hardware store. We had a lady who used to come in the store and front face all the items on the shelves in the electrical section. One day one of the guys who was a jerk went behind her and moved an item on the shelf. She stopped, went to the beginning of the isle and started over again.

Sixty-plus years ago, I would go to our corner store on Tuesdays and Thursdays (that’s when the new magazines would come in from the regional distributor). I’d rip open the boxes and sort the magazines and comics, and place them in their appropriate spot on the huge magazine rack. It required taking out last week (or last month) magazines and putting the magazines in their correct places, and usually took well over half an hour. My reward was 2 new comics … 4 free comic books a week. Best part though, was the store owner had complete trust in me … a great feeling when I was kid.
