We HAVE done a “standard vacation” perhaps thrice in our lives. They were fun, of a sort, but too busy. And the Dismayland one was also too crowded and too expensive. Lately, we mostly rent a motel somewhere “interesting” and then go tour around. Usually tasting the local wines, eating at the local “top tier” restaurants … and yeah, taking in the local points of interest. It’s reasonably expensive (not “too” and not “inexpensive” either) but we end up drinking good wine for months after we get back. And the pictures are usually both pretty and interesting: Waterfalls, strange sheep near the winery, a nice bend in a river…

“Learn for a lifetime, be considered weird for a lifetime.”

I wish this kid, whatever her name is, would show up more on Frazz. Very cool, I like her style.

My idea of a great retro vacation harkens back to when I was about 9 months old, and I’d just lie in bed all day and occasionally someone would come around and tickle my tummy. Ah, the good times!

Y’know, I’ve gotten used to it by now, but I wonder how long it took after this strip first started up for people to stop thinking that it was really weird that the lead character had his eyebrows in his hair.

“Normal” is just majority opinion.

That’s quite profound from someone her age.

Fad diets aren’t worth trying even for a second. Note they all come with products to buy. The only thing losing weight is your wallet. For the ‘healthy living comic strip’ Frazz is a bit off script. But maybe Mallet swears by paleo or keto? Many health nuts take things a step or three too far.

I guess I never learned

I remember a fad diet in the 70’s someone I knew swore by. She’s eat an egg and a grapefruit, get the runs and feel like she did a good job. She didn’t lose any weight but that never stopped her from trying.

A retro vacation would be great, if it came with a retro price tag.(Say from the ’50’s—’60’s)

Sometimes you just got to get it out of your system.
