I think the airlines need to take a lesson from cargo planes.
Load the people on pallets (this can be dove very quickly since people can get to their seats on from the sides) and then push them up the ramp and onto the airplane. They can configure the pallets by seat size so if they sold more premium seats, they can use more premium pallets.

I always thought that instead of seats, they should have bunk beds. That way everyone could be comfortable.
