Is that rather large creature applauding being told to shoo or just because it is looking forward to the pie?

That doesn’t look like the kind of “pie” that flies like.

Today at a barbecue we forgot we set aside a cooked hamburger patty. The yellow jackets took a liking to it, so when they left and just the silver flies were on it, I quickly flipped it back on the aluminum-foiled grill. I heard some extra sizzles. I’m not sure if any flies were fried or if they escaped first.

Someone zapped “The Fly” (1958 original, 1986 remake) with a growth ray?

This is an odd creature, 3 body parts like an insect, 8 legs like an arachnid. I guess it is just an arthropod looking for family.

And so, they both enjoyed a piece of the pie… after shooing off other bugs and insects and vermin….OH MY!

Sorry, spider, that pie was not made from a “Shoo” species of fly.

“Shoo Fly” pie is so named because when the baker would place this on her windowsill to cool down, flies were attracted to it. To keep flies away, she would have to wave her hands over it, usually saying “shoo fly” as she was doing so.
