A friend of mine was servicing the dishwasher at a pub when the pub owner noticed a patron that hadn’t moved in quite a while, just sitting there with a blank stare. He went over to check on him, he had a knife in his back.

“Asleep with his eyes open” is normal in a working class bar. It’s called being stoned drunk! Don’t ask me how I know!:-)

it’s okay Andy, Flo knows about living through.a nightmare

All sorts of astonishing things in this world.

My Dad would occasionally have what were called a petit mal – a blank stare for about a minute.

So Flo’s the woman of his dreams.

He’s heard that Andy was in the pub, so learned to sleep with his eyes open to make it look like he was keeping an eye on his pint.

If the lad was asleep, I am sure Andy finished his beer for him.

I’m wondering if it’s possible for people to sleep with their eyes open? Unfortunately I have not been blessed with such a talent. But I’m sure that’s not the case regarding Flo. Andy’s just jealous because other blokes find his wife attractive.

Yeah. I’m sure that’s it.

Today at work we have been training on how to use a computer system for enrolling students onto courses. As you may know, I work in a college. The system is called Unit-E which thankfully I already know a bit about as we explored it last Friday.

However I found the training today a bit overwhelming because I’d rather he had us all doing the exact same thing on our computers and for us to “follow along” while he was showing us from his computer. I felt like it was a little too fast for me. I tried to follow along but it was hard to keep up if that makes sense. I waited until after everybody had left to go to lunch and I just said “That was a lot to take in” He agreed and the office manager who was with us told me that they don’t expect us all to learn it in one day and to not worry. I was speaking to a colleague (who was also doing the training) in the lift and she said “You have to be an alien or a computer to learn all that straight away” That made me feel better.

I was on the verge of tears (I know that sound dramatic) but ever since I was replaced from my warehouse job after 1 and a half days, I want to pick up and learn everything straight away. I’m just terrified they’ll see me struggling and decide to let me go. They can legally do that without warning as I’m an agency worker.

We have an hour’s training tomorrow over Microsoft Teams so not all day like today’s training was. I know that will be easier.

I know I shouldn’t be so hard on myself because I have been at my new job literally 1 week. I think after having my favourite nosh tonight (Tuesdays and Fridays for me) I’ll feel a lot better.

With Andy, you’d never know whether his eyes are open or closed.
