I was expecting this to go down the path of another Sterling origin story.

Wallace got his fearlessness from his mom and his love of Cryptoids from his father.

I think the dad gets bored during these fishing trips, and spends them coming up with his latest tall tales to tell his kids. It would explain a thing or two. :P
