If you weren’t supposed to do all the problems, the book wouldn’t have included them.

You are to write down the the number of the questions the teacher gave you to do.

I agree with Chris! What’s the point of having e-mail if you’re not gonna use it?

Well, 20 years later it has come to this. Teachers putting the week’s lessons and homework online. And students still not doing it.

“Do all the prime-numbered problems from 1 through 40.”

I came to realize that one of my math teachers would use the problems he did NOT assign for homework on the tests. So I wound up doing them all anyway – and acing the class.

Ask Jason to do it. He may just agree to do it for free if you spin it as “fun” like in Tom Sawyer.

Speaking as a math teacher, I still wonder why they put so many problems in the book. You don’t need THAT many to master the idea!

I agree with Peter on this one. The teacher is too lazy to write the assignments down in a syllabus so that EVERYONE gets the correct assignment?

Ask your brother.

Several years later and Peter’s idea is very popular.

So… is that every problem in the entire book for this weekend? Or every problem in Chapter 1 for this weekend? (With every problem in every chapter as they get to it Peter’s special just-for-him homework?)

I will say that, had I been the teacher, I would have written out the full homework assignment on the chalkboard/whiteboard so all the students could copy it down.

The short cut always ends up the long way around…
