Yes. The orange mistake is incompetent, egotistical, lacks any form of empathy, lies (possibly without even knowing it), is incredibly stupid about many things… AND is one of the most effective grifters of all time. Too bad he doesn’t have a USEFUL talent (and use it).

I’m afraid I’m missing something. The point is that a particular politician (in this case Trump) is a massive hypocrite? When every single one of them, without exception, is likewise a massive hypocrite? Or is there something else here, and I just haven’t had my coffee yet?

I think — I hope — that Ted Rall is slyly broadcasting Trump’s sensible counter to the current DC establishment’s insane drumbeat for wider war.

If Trump does cause the annihilation of America, I’m sure it will be spectacular. He would accept nothing less. He could have his follower’s corpses laid out to spell MAGA in letters so huge they could be seen from space. Unfortunately, with everyone in America dead he would have to bring in immigrants to do the work of moving the bodies.

Russians have been using cluster bombs in Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion. It must be difficult to fight a war with both hands tied behind your back while you’re limited to attacking only on your own territory while your enemy rains cruise missiles down on you from hundreds of miles beyond your border.

It is a miracle that Ukraine survives to this day.

Bartiromo asked Trump how he would end the war within 24 hours, and he deflected, talking about how he respected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for not criticizing him over the situation that led to Trump’s first impeachment. But then Bartiromo sought to bring the conversation back to the question:

BARTIROMO: Well, that’s not going to be enough for Putin to stop bombing Ukraine.

TRUMP: No, no, no. No, I’m not saying that. I — what I’m saying is that I know Zelensky very well, and I know [Russian President Vladimir] Putin very well, even better. And I had a good relationship, very good, with both of them.

I would tell Zelensky: No more. You got to make a deal. I would tell Putin: If you don’t make a deal, we’re going to give them a lot. We’re going to give them more than they ever got, if we have to.

I will have the deal done in one day, one day.

The Ukraine funding skeptics have, of course, focused on the part about giving Ukraine “more than they ever got.” (Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’s political action committee played up that comment.) What Trump in fact seemed to be saying was that he was going to tell that to Putin while telling Zelensky the opposite: that Ukraine was going to be cut off.

As Newsweek reports, Taylor writes that Trump in 2019 was upset at reports that Texas ranchers were bringing their cattle through openings in the wall so that they could graze at the Rio Grande, on the grounds that this would let “thousands” of undocumented immigrants pour into the country.

Even though then-Department of Homeland Security chief Kirstjen Nielsen insisted to the president that this wasn’t the case, he demanded that his staff come up with alternative ways for ranchers to be able to access the Rio Grande.

“Give the ranchers ladders,” Trump floated at one point. “They can use ladders to get to the other side, but not doors. You could use small fire trucks. Call the local fire stations, and use the ladders on their trucks to help them get over.”

Taylor recalls thinking that Trump’s plan to send cows over the wall via ladders was “incandescently stupid” but he nonetheless managed to avoid laughing in the former president’s face.

What’s more, writes Taylor, the harebrained cow ladder scheme wasn’t even the worst idea Trump had, as he even complained that military servicemembers sent to the border were not allowed to simply mow down immigrants on sight.

    .

    Trump loves to kill people.

Political and legal experts are sounding the alarm after a New York Times deep dive details how Donald Trump and his top allies are planning to massively reorganize the entire executive branch to hand him unprecedented power and decimate the constitutional basis of checks and balances should he win re-election next year.

“Donald J. Trump and his allies are planning a sweeping expansion of presidential power over the machinery of government if voters return him to the White House in 2025, reshaping the structure of the executive branch to concentrate far greater authority directly in his hands,” The New York Times’ Jonathan Swan, Charlie Savage and Maggie Haberman report.

With the assistance of entities like the Heritage Foundation, a right-wing think tank that was transformed during the Trump years, The Times reports several of Trump’s well-known associates have been working on plans for his second term.

Among them, John McEntee. Swan last year at Axios described McEntee a “young take-no-prisoners loyalist with chutzpah” who Trump had enlisted after his first impeachment acquittal in early 2020 to “activate the plan for revenge.”

“Baby-faced assassin,” is how The Guardian in February of 2020 described McEntee, “the 29-year old at the heart of Trump’s ‘deep state’ purge.”

.Republicans want to end democracy and make traitor Trump total dictator so he can round up his political enemies..

Your reminder that Trump ordered a major expansion of US drone strikes & covered up the scale of civilian deaths that resulted. Putin didn’t invade Ukraine while Trump was in office, because Trump was doing a far better job of dismantling NATO & demolishing American diplomatic influence than Putin could ever hope to achieve.
