How about just allowing the citizens of each state the freedom to decide what is best for their own state?

We have meddled with the genius of the Founders way too much. I would bet the farm I would not be stuck with my two Senators if state legislatures still picked them and the federal government wouldn’t be such a mess if only the productive could vote. My father would say that government it is a small price to pay to live in a great country. He has been gone for over 30 years and I wonder if he would still say that with similar conviction.

It would be good if the law was the same in each State. Just been looking up the driving laws and rules in America for when I go. Not that simple. It gives rules then indicates that they differ in all States, so now I have to check the rules in each State I’m going to drive in, just in case. And remember which is which. Not exactly United when it comes to laws.

As I look over the text, it seems very clear to me that Congress has full and unlimited authority over divots. Interestingly, enough, that authority also seems to extend to water hazards. I’m not quite so sure about greens.

@Doug K: FL has taken that very seriously. That’s why the donkeys hate that state (even though some of them vacationed there while forcing their constituents to wrap themselves in cloth and stay apart during the plandemic, uh I mean, pandemic)

They eventually determined that was unenforceable.

The citizens of each state do get to make that choice, by voting.
