Part of the joy of this strip, is always eagerly watching what Dan is doing with his hands… reading, stirring, writing, rosary-making, mug-holding. At least Dan doesn’t use his gavel at home. (How often do judges actually use one?)
Times change. Went to Texas for Mom’s funeral. Although I cooked chop suey for everyone, they preferred to wait an hour and a half for a family size frozen lasagna to cook. Texans don’t appear to eat much in the way of vegetables. :)

Dan is especially judicious in the first panel.

I like how Dan is always insufferably subtle but still loving to Amanda (panel 2).

Is Dan planning to grow back his beard? (I actually like Dan’s “circle” for the strip so we can see more of his face!)

Yeah, Dan — like the Red Sox in the 2004 A.L.C.S.! (What a glorious comeback THAT was!)

Let us all remember the the Great Ham of ‘92. — Why do we remember every funeral we’ve been to by the food?! Is that a thing for everyone?
