I love poetry!

Maybe the Dingo ate your baby…

They’ll take bimbos for 600, Alex!

Well they call this land the Outback, don’t you ask me why

Yes they named my hell the Outback, but you know that that’s a lie

On that wintry August night, I learned that name was just half right

My baby went out, but won’t be back ’til the day I die

Oh the dingoes took my baby, took my baby away from me

Yes the dingoes took my baby, underneath the old gum tree

And it’s givin’ me the blues, just like the lonesome kangaroos

Since the dingoes took my baby from me

Well they stole my baby’s heart, and trampled mine into the ground

They ran off with her lovin’ heart, so I went searchin’ all around

In a gulch outside of Sydney, I picked up two ribs and a kidney

But my baby’s heart was nowhere to be found

I got no use for a wombat, goanna, wallaby or emu

I wouldn’t wanna meet a wombat, go on and send him to the zoo

No I would not give a dollar for a kookaburra or koala

But with a dingo I would sure know hat to do

Come on sing ‘em with me brothers, when you’ve lost all you got to lose

Come on and wail ’em with me brothers, bring your guitars and didgeridoos

And if you feel that your bullroarer won’t make these blues the poorer

Bring that too. Go on and roar the Dingo Blues.
