They can’t be too far in the woods if they are still getting a cell signal. Just follow SIRI or Alexa, and you will be just fine, unless that is how you got lost in the first place.

I have a story where the American explorers are at a peasant village in Egypt, far from the big cities of the Nile delta. They’re trying to discover a mysterious phenomenon mentioned by Brit soldiers during WW II. They try to explain what they’re hoping to find and one of the peasants suggests, “Are you looking for the place where cell phones don’t work?”

Couldn’t you fly up there to see where you’re at or are you one of those grounded buzzards?

Not dissimilar to the time my wife and I were looking for our hotel in Texas and, three times in row, the GPS took us to a cemetery and announce ‘You have arrived at your destination’.

Yeah, if the GPS says you’re really lost, you are in trouble.

GPS is great. My ‘08 GMC Canyon’s speedometer isn’t easy to read. So, I found a digital speedometer app on my smartphone. Now I have a bright, east to see, GPS driven speedometer to guide my driving.

well time to start zapping as flares to ask for help then.

To really really get lost, use GPS.
