It does seem better when my parents generation was running the show. BUT except for the Viet Nam vacation I didn’t pay attention either
Lets see now. How long were we in charge for?
Yup.
You only thought you were in charge…
I blame the parents.
Yes.
Anything is better than NOW! Gasp
It was better AND worse. All in the telling.
“Hope I die before I get old…”Hit my 70s and still feel like a kid at times, but I do regret many of the failures of the Boomer Gen.
“It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.”
Yeah, when your parents said, “Kid’s today…” and shook their heads, the doom they saw was fairly accurate.
Media is more pervasive these days. In the “good ol’ days”, no one could read about every murder in the entire hemisphere within a few hours.
Growing up in the 50’s and 60’s I thought all the hippies would od on their drugs but they became our politicians….
Here’s a sobering thought: some day, today will be part of the “good old days”. Takeaway is that the “good old days” were never as good as you remember them to be.
America was much better before the Baby Boomers ran it into the ground.
