My sister’s husband got to visit Tesla in New York. A fellow slav. My brother-in-law gave me a book about Tesla way back in 1952. Nearby our house there were two streets that intersected. Armstrong and Tesla. Armstrong was the inventor of FM radio, among other things.
I used to buy the beans at Starbucks and grind them at home. Then I tried Gevalia French Roast and liked it better. But coffee prices have gotten so high that I get the Walmart brand now. It’s OK.
The kidnapping one reminds me of the one where a fitness expert who touted the benefits of jogging had a heart attack and died… while jogging. Also, just this morning I saw a headline about a news crew reporting from a neighborhood having a rash of armed robberies, who got, you guessed it, robbed by armed robbers…
The story of Felix was years before a guy started a business protecting people from identity theft. He posted his social security number on a van that drove around town to try proving his practices were so robust he could not have his identity stolen.
It took three days before his identity was stolen, so I guess he deserves partial credit….

Tesla stayed at various hotels, running up large bills, and leaving without paying or being evicted. This was after he worked for Westinghouse. When the company learned of this situation, they began paying his rent, and enough to live on.
He liked to feed pigeons. The one in today’s R-BION suffered a broken wing and leg, and he took care of her while she healed.
It isn’t clear how this particular pigeon is related to Tesla’s end of career or his death. He was walking to a place where he fed pigeons, and was hit by a taxicab. But, that was a little more than 5 years before his death.
When Tesla died, government officials were concerned about the potential that Tesla could have been working on useful inventions or research that could be advantageous to opponents of the United States. Tesla’s property was seized, and inspected by an electrical engineer from M.I.T. The engineer concluded nothing useful was left in Tesla’s estate.
That engineer was John G. Trump, who was the uncle of Donald J. Trump.
