Down can be easy or hard depending on the method. Falling – simple gravity – not good. Bending to reach for something – creaky but doable. Kneeling – slow painful descent. Arising – the hard part = finding something to grasp with leverage that doesn’t hurt and doesn’t strain. And all accompanied by the music of the joints and grinding teeth, with maybe just a touch of certain ancient runes spoken just under hearing range.
