Yesterday I read about the two schools of thought about consciousness, integrated information theory (IIT) and the global neuronal workspace (GNW) theory. According to the Global Workspace Theory, the clearest signal would come from the prefrontal cortex because it broadcasts information across the brain. The Integrated Information Theory, on the other hand, predicted that regions with the most complex connections — those in the back of the brain — would be most active. I know it exists, two questions – where does consciousness go when we die? And are past lives (usually children) proof it goes on?

It’s actually “pataphysical”, and according to wikipedia “pataphysics” derives from a Greek phrase meaning “that which is above metaphysics”.
