The first pop music I heard was what my parents had on in the late ‘40s. The level of quality has remained pretty darned constant my whole life. It doesn’t mean there wasn’t good stuff. The level of raw sewage was about the same though.

Aliens may be more intelligent than humans, but they don’t have better taste in music.
