My cat Ivy found a mouse in the house yesterday evening, though I didn’t realise there was a mouse in the house yesterday evening. I thought she was just being playful and practicing her hunting skills around some boxes of things in the hallway. I found the mouse (On it’s back, deceased) in the hallway when I got out of bed this morning, it seems that at some point during the night Ivy caught and killed it. It wasn’t covered in slobber, so she hadn’t just caught it. It’s the first one she’s caught since she’s been with me. It seems that Ivy is a ‘Mouser’! :-)
Tomorrow is 9/11. Yesterday, Mark, Farah and I were reminiscing about where we were back then. I was safely at work in Forest Hills, Queens. Watched the whole thing unfold with a co-worker on the office TV. Farah and Mark were both working in Manhattan. Mark and his co-workers watched the towers burning from the rooftop of their office building…..then, when 1 collapsed, he high tailed it outta town on any train he could get on. From her office building, Farah saw the 2nd plane fly into the 2nd tower. She was traumatized. Trying to get out of Manhattan (at that point you couldn’t get a bus or train), she hopped in a co-worker’s car (uninvited) and was driven over a bridge into Queens and dropped off at home. Jeanne (eldest daughter, was in med school overseas). Tomorrow I will be glued to the TV.
Figured out 1 down (Lily) and 14 across (Annie) instantly. I don’t usually do crossword puzzles, but do enjoy them and word searches sometimes. On another note, saw three juncos and a dragonfly while out walking today.

The answers I got (Probably wrong).
Across:
1 – Leap : 7 – Leaf : 14 – Annie.
Down:
1 – Lily : 4 – Puffin.
Not sure about 7 across, but it fits.
That’s not how the numbers usually go in crosswords, but it still works.

My cat, Dori, sometimes gets lucky to find a mouse in the house and play with it until it’s dead. Then puts it in her water bowl for me to find.
