For those who don’t get it, some Americans believe that if you go right through the Earth, you’ll come out in China. In fact, that’s why a certain movie was titled The China Syndrome.
When my kids were little, I always told them to go dig a hole all the way to China. Kept them busy for hours. (We live on a farm so there were plenty of places to dig without a problem.)
