Certainly not for short people, and if your bust, waist, hip measurement do not align perfectly – you are forever between sizes.

Exactly. Ex-wife was 4’11" and about 90 lbs soaking wet. Her size would vary depending on the manufacturer. Second wife is 5’11" and willowy at 128 lbs. She faces the same lack of consistency in sizes of clothing depending on manufacturer. Men have it much easier with most clothing dimensions listed. Levi’s or other trousers listed with waist and inseam, dress shirts with neck and sleeve if a long sleeve.

This is yet another travesty brought on by the clothing industry. They’re just messing with us so we have to go back and buy more of whatever it was that didn’t fit. I for one can find a piece of clothing that does fit, and wear it until it falls off my body…of course never two days in a row though.

We are going through my mother’s estate. One of my sisters-in-law found hundreds of dollars of designer clothing, which never even had the sales tags removed. Mom officially became a hoarder when she had an outbuilding constructed at the ranch to expand her hoard storage.

But it looked so good on that short mannequin!

I have a similar problem. Really long legs and normal all the rest of the height. Try and find women’s slacks with a narrow hip and 36" inseam. They consider 30-32" max for tall. Unhemmed. I will not wear flood pants. Wouldn’t do it as a teen in the 70s and refuse to still.

Why does he do it? BECAUSE THAT’S HIS JOB!

I know. I can’t wear most clothes that are made with elastic in them. They literally hurt, especially the rugby pants that were popular in the 80’s

If you ask for a gift receipt you can wait a bit longer to return the item.

It’s really strange how men’s clothing comes in numerical sizes that relate directly to body measurements and women’s clothing comes in sizes where even the numerical ones vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Then there’s the general evolution in numbered sizes. In 1963 when I started working in my dad’s dime store I quickly learned that the clothing size for the mannequins was 12. Today the same mannequins would be something between 2 and 6.

I want women’s pajama pants with pockets, but apparently THAT’S too much to ask!
