Oh yes, hot toddies :-D I remember a vibrant discussion here on a former-later Fred strip. Finnygirl was still with us.

This strip was my first laugh today, thank you, Fred and Mr. Graham :-)

My grandmother didn’t drink, but when it was needed, she would have a hot toddy and that would help relieve whatever the ailment was. Hot water, honey(natural anti-biotic) and a jigger of the best Ky bourbon you can buy.

The 1930s MGM actress Thelma Todd was known as Hot Toddy but MGM created a new nickname for her “The Ice Cream Blonde” which they felt was more suitable for the family-friendly films they were famous for.

Cold ‘medications’ are a scam. Go well the all-natural relief! The man’s on the right track!

100 proof peppermint schnapps is my go to. It opens the nose, cools the sore throat, suppresses coughing, decongests lungs, and relieves aches and discomfort. Take another shot glass whenever symptoms get out of control

Maybe Mrs. Dear had some other activity in mind that is precluded by Mr. Dear’s present activity ! ! !

Why is Mrs. Dear so angry? He’s putting himself (and possibly her) out of his misery…

Time is the only cure. Any of the other stuff may make you feel better ’til then.

When my Grandfather was in the nursing home, his doctor prescribed him a daily shot of Old Granddad whiskey. The nurse would bring the bottle around on her med cart.

Whisky (or at pinch whiskey (Irish and Bourbon)) as an anti-viral/biotic, Lemon juice (Vitamin C), honey for the sore throat and anything else that honey does, hot water to bring it all together (it is a HOT tody), and drink at the first sign of symptoms before you go to bed. It works for me.
