Of course their opinions wouldn’t be a problem except you have opinions of your own. Its not opinions you object to but lack of conformity to your opinion. Maybe save some wine for them?

I just keep my opinions clear of relatives. It’s my personal theory of relativity.

When we moved to a distant plot of land, Mom was never without love for us but also was good at making suggestions — from a distance. ’You need to do this . . . or that . . . and then . . .. But she visited us for a week, she began to understand exactly what we went through every day just to make ends meet. Reality brought her clarity and her support. Her love never changed. It just grew stronger.

Works that way with lots of things. As the saying goes, if you want to understand another person’s life, walk a mile in his/her shoes.

There are opinions and then there are opinions that are based in fact.

Opinions are like @$$ holes. Every one has one, but everyone believes that theirs is the only one that doesn’t stink.

This is why I hate Thanksgiving. My late mother thought family drama was an Olympic sport and was trying out for it. Now my dad doesn’t know how to handle things. I have no idea what to do.
