What can you expect from a state that went to war with Mexico in order to keep their slaves after Mexico insisted that they keep their promise (made when they first immigrated to Mexican controlled Texas) to obey Mexican laws, which forbade slavery. They said they were fighting for freedom and liberty … and promptly joined the U.S. as a slave state! Their mindset hasn’t really changed in the ensuing 187 years.
Ironic, isn’t it, that groups that have “liberty” in their names tend to be fighting against it for some people. I guess “liberty” and “freedom” must be different somehow.
Why is it so hard for everyone to see that 90% of our politicians are set on enriching themselves and their families while gaining power and staying in power. Maybe because the media is dividing and playing along so they can get their cut of the riches. If they won’t accept term limits we need to vote them term limits.
Republicans in the Texas House have prepared new impeachment charges against Paxton. Our Texas GOP Committee told them if the representatives again vote to impeach they will receive no more funds from the GOP and will each face a primary challenge…the same message they gave to our Texas GOP Senators before Paxton’s other “trial”.

Conservatives can not accept change or any truth that points out they are wrong.
“Conservatism, then, is not a commitment to limited government and liberty – or a wariness of change, a belief in evolutionary reform, or a politics of virtue. These may be byproducts of conservatism, one or more of its historically specific and ever-changing modes of expression. But they are not it animating purpose. Neither is conservatism a makeshift fusion of catalysts, Christians, and warriors, for that fusion is impelled by a more element force – the opposition to the liberation of men and women from the fetters of their superiors, particularly in the private sphere. Such a view might seem miles away from the libertarian defense of the free market, with its celebration of the atomistic autonomous individual. But it is not. When the libertarian looks out upon society, he does not see isolated individuals; he sees private, often hierarchical groups, where a father governs his family and an owner his employees… the conservative position stems from a genuine conviction that a world thus emancipated will be ugly, brutish, base, and dull. It will lack the excellence of a world where the better man commands the worse… Each in his own way subscribes to this typical statement, from the nineteenth century, of the conservative creed: To obey a real superior… is one of the most important of all virtues – a virtue absolutely essential to the attainment of anything great and lasting.” The Righteous Mind by Corey Robin

The KKK is a racist organization, conceived and administered by racists, and at the conclusion of the Civil War the racists in the former Confederacy were Democrats. Since then, the progressive Republican Party, of which Abraham Lincoln was a founding member, generally combatted slavery and racism … until Nixon. Nixon saw that the voters in the former Confederacy, though nominally Democrats, were still racists, and shifted the Republican Party’s moral and social 180 degrees. Newt Gingrich emphasized its amorality, both in person and as a political policy, and Rupert Murdoch arrived on the scene to move it all the way to Hitlerian Nazism, the area where most Republicans today feel comfortable. The Democrats, meanwhile, the party of people who use their brains to decide what to do, not just their lower intestine, kept seeing—as the progressive Europeans have seen—the benefits of morality, empathy and a social conscience.

Greed knows no bounds, especially those who have some power and wish to acquire more.

Ironic isn’t it. The KKK is a Democrat founded organization. Even old Joe Biden spoke at the funeral of one of their Exalted Cyclops.
