But that’s clearly pizza with pepperoni so they are still getting a supply of dead animal flesh.

And if you have any left over, RJ, I’ll be glad to get rid of it for you. Just trying to help scavenge.

Useless trivia of the day: Vultures have feathers on their heads when they’re young, but the go bald from having their heads in carcasses all the time.

If it weren’t for turkey buzzards and black vultures, NJ would be neck-deep in roadkill. I have even seen hawks and eagles on carcasses. Who needs to hunt when you can go to an all-you-can-eat buffet?

Aren’t the pepperonis already made from dead animals?

Then who’s going to clean up the roadkill?

Another ecosystem put out of balance by humans, pizza, and raccoons.

If all vultures (and other carrion consumers) switch from consuming the flesh of dead creatures to eating pizza, will even a year go by before one (or more) of the existential viruses which originate in that unconsumed flesh — to spread far and wide — do not result in one (or multiple) pandemic(s) which travel via human transportation to every continent and overwhelm every attempt at human eradication/control/vaccination?

Andrew Zimmern, (Bizarre Foods), considers offal stinky…in a good way.
