My dad used to tell of the Halloween tricks they played when he was a boy – 1920s/30s. My mom insists she never heard of same – even if she was a girl, her elder brother apparently did not do so either.
Mmm, fresh sweet taters, roasted over an open fire.
We had to eat candy corn – and like it!
Cow tipping! Unless, of course, it was a bull.

…and each house was on a steep hill (both ways)… And in a snowstorm… With a tornado spinning over the house… With a hurricane on the front porch.
