Yes – but for some people that’s never good enough.

Just wait till you want a privilege, Elliot. You will be told no, you can’t go to that party or whatever it is you want to do. If you do what you’re supposed to do, you may get more privileges.

Now that I’m retired and my wife is working full time, most of the chores fall to me. I cleaned the kitchen stove and bathroom yesterday, and when finished told our adult kids, No one is allowed to cook or use the bathroom anymore.

Had the driveway repaved and had a niche made for the new giant garbage cans. All I have to do is move them forward several inches for pickup. I take out the trash to them when I pick up the mail.

Right now, my grandson is living here and he is helping me with chores.

At this point you tell Elliot, I see. . . You know its my responsibility to pay for your cell phone. . . . Hmmm, some how I’m just not feeling the love here and that makes it hard for me to be motivated to pay for YOUR cell phone. . . . Are you catching what I’m pitching?

Literally said that to my teenage grandson.

You probably should have rephrased that. I mean since when has he ever been responsible.

If I did half the things that Elliot does, I would have had no teeth. Times have changed. When I was young, children was seen and not heard.

And I am responsible for giving you an allowance, if you get my drift. Or if you want, there’s a circus caravan going through town and you are more than welcome to join them. We will miss you though……
