What IS it about Gene and thanksgiving arc? Last year he ignored his son and made a 12 year old cook for him to win a highly sexist bet, this year he’s DUCKTAPING HIS SON’S MOUTH SHUT and getting mad his son.. made an ENTIRELY legitimate point to his wife. Especially after last year. I don’t dislike Gene as a character but I do think he needs to be dialed back a tad.

Time to tell him the truth about Santa Claus.

Okay, this is ridiculous! What is wrong with you, Miles? Just because you don’t like Thanksgiving doesn’t mean you have to ruin it for everybody else!

Miles is fighting against a holiday that’s really a centuries old conspiracy. I can truly respect that.

I’m sure I’m going to get an earful (pageful?) for this, but what is the deal that lately every American tradition, from holidays to the National Anthem, is suddenly such a bad thing?

You don’t like Thanksgiving? Fine. Don’t celebrate it. Just don’t force your ideas onto those who don’t think the same way. Personally, I hate Christmas…but I am not going to cancel it for my family just because I’m a Scrooge.

I agree. Turkey day is a fairy tale. It is Thanksgiving, a day to be thankful for everything you do have. The turkey is secondary.

Miles, while I admire you for standing up for what you believe, I don’t know how you can turn down a Thanksgiving Day feast. Those don’t come along every day.

I don’t get it. Do you not celebrate July 4th because the independence was actually declared the second?

To those who find things like the National Anthem, and Thanksgiving offensive, what would you suggest we do instead?

NONE of this makes any sense. What kid doesn’t like a Thanksgiving feast??? His reasons (never articulated) don’t seem to be political (or vegetarian…still plenty good eatin’ for veg folk like myself)…
